CaribSea PurpleUp Coralline Algae Accelerator, 16 fl oz

CaribSea PurpleUp is a coralline algae accelerator for your aquarium, pairing ionic calcium with an aragonite powder aimed at live rock.

Quick facts

• Species: Fish
• Size or dimensions: 16 fl oz
• Material or key ingredient: Ionic calcium and Super Sea Calcium aragonite powder

Why owners like it

• Ionic calcium immediately raises dissolved calcium levels in your tank water, according to CaribSea.
• Super Sea Calcium, a 10 micron aragonite powder derived from natural seawater, targets the live rock surface and dissolves there, delivering calcium, strontium, magnesium, and carbonate right where the brand says it's needed.
• It also replenishes iodine, an element CaribSea notes is essential for coralline algae tissues and quickly becomes depleted in closed systems.
• CaribSea says PurpleUp is not a fertilizer and does not promote the growth of nuisance algae.

CaribSea describes the approach behind PurpleUp as a unique dual method for coralline algae acceleration, backed by a US patent the brand cites as No. 7,565,883.
